Weegoh Evolution

I want to summarize all the nice stuff we rolled out in the last few months, we’ve been so busy that we couldn’t even post about them!

UI Tweaks:

We redesigned several pages to make them cleaner and easier to understand, and we also streamlined the navigation flow.

The profile page now shows neatly where you are checked in, your bio and stats, and where you live on the web. Additionally you can send messages to the user, join (checkin at his location) and follow/block.

Public Pages:

Once upon a time Weegoh was all closed unless you were a registered user, now we have public pages so you can easily see what’s going on anywhere in the world.

Realtime:

Weegoh now lets you keep up with everything that’s happening nearby in realtime. When any of your friends checkin at a venue, post a message or make a comment you get notified instantly not only by Gtalk/Jabber/IM, Twitter, email and Facebook but also on the web site no refreshing needed.

Awesomeness:

We decided to highlight the user that has the most checkins at a place to make it stand out from the rest and we are calling it the “leader”.

Mobile:

We’ve been working really hard to release our Iphone and Android apps! We hope you like them and give us feedback to keep improving them.

You can use Weegoh from your mobile:

- Mobile Site: point your browser to m.weegoh.com

- Android: download from the Android Market

- Iphone: download from the iTunes Store

- Touch Optimized Mobile Site: point your browser to i.weegoh.com

Hope you like it, thanks for all the support and feedback!

Weegoh learns more languages

language_books

We are glad to announce that Weegoh added support for Spanish and Portuguese languages.

These are efforts geared towards getting a real international site.

You can now change your account language following Settings->Account->Language.

We hope to add more and more languages really soon!

If you would like to see your language supported let us know by sending an email to support@weegoh.com

Stay tuned!

What’s weegoh.com about?

I really like how you can express an idea by using tagclouds to represent at brief what’s that idea about. And, at the same time I wanted to post about what’s behind http://weegoh.com, and what is this all about.

So, i thought it was pretty cool to share the following image =)

Weegoh Private Beta

Today we are launching the Private Beta version of Weegoh and inviting a selected group of users to help us tune the site during the next days prior to our Public Beta, if you want to be part of this Beta you can send us your email and we’ll send you a registration link.

Weegoh lets people meet the world around them, highlighting social interactions, relevant venues and hot events.

Weegoh is also about sharing experiences around places as it makes easy to share stuff based on your current location.

Typical questions that Weegoh can surely answer are:

  • I’m on the go, so what are the “hot venues” to go now?

  • What’s going on here or there?

  • Is there anything interesting going around?

  • Where are my friends now and what are they up to?

We have long been pursuing the challenge of how to help people connect their online self with their real world life and Weegoh is the product of this passion, we hope you enjoy it!.
